The quality of the final product depends on special cares which begin with extraction. Always seeking to offer you the best product available in the market, ALTIVO PEDRAS extracts its product from privately owned natural reserves, thus guaranteeing a continuous supply, high standards of quality and time of delivery.
We have available to us the largest black slate natural reserve in Brazil. Besides guaranteeing agility in service this quarry creates a differential for ALTIVO PEDRAS: singular quality production of large sizes such as our slabs 2,30m long and our floor tiles of 100 x 100 cm. In the vicinity of this quarry we have recently installed our new production unit, one that will double our current production capacity, making us the largest production unit of slate processing in Brazil.
From our gray and matação slate quarries we produce floor and roof tiles, slabs, stairs, as well as special products in the main sizes. We also produce matação slate which is used in the production of billiard tabletops. Matação slate is a special type of slate with ideal characteristics for the use in billiard tabletops – it is impossible to open it in slim slabs, inferior to 2 or 3 cm – thus making it irreplaceable by any other natural stone, for this purpose, specially if we consider cost-benefit.
